What do water filtration systems cost?
Water filtration systems can range from $400-$10,000. For example:

How does a water filtration system work?
Water softeners – filter by way of Ion exchange -Ion-exchange filters “soften” the water and are good at removing limescale. It removes calcium and magnesium ions from hard water and replaces them with sodium ions—in other words, they exchange “bad” ions for “good” ones.
Water Conditioners – There are different kinds of water conditioners. A carbon filtration water conditioner contains activated carbon that absorbs chemicals like sulfur and chlorine in the water in addition to softening the water. It is a better alternative to your typical Water Softener.
Many other types of filters can do much more than these Water Softeners and Water Conditioners do.
How to buy a water filtration system?
When choosing a water filtration for your home is good to look for these main questions to ask:
- Is it going to handle all of your concerns regarding your water quality?
- Is there a local service facility for the system?
- What is the warranty? Can I see it before I purchase it?
- Are the parts of Proprietary?
- What are the service requirements? How often? How much? Is it in the contract?
How much does it cost to put in a water filtration system?
On average, it is about $600 for a standard installation. The price will vary if there are additional requests made by the customer.
Most companies will include in the purchase of the Whole House Filtration System.
When does my system need cleaning and does it clean itself?
Purity Bay systems use Demand Initiated Regeneration (DIR) technology, which means they clean on demand. The demand is based on settings we program into the head so that the system will clean itself only when needed. The system will clean itself automatically at 2 AM.
How much salt should I use?
Since your system cleans itself on demand, it is difficult to pinpoint an exact answer to this question. We recommend that you monitor the salt and find your system’s rhythm based on your family’s use. We also recommend that you keep the salt level in the brine tank at about ⅓ to ½, and no more! The reason for this is that the salt will tend to harden at the upper level of the water level that is automatically filled by the computer causing what we call a salt bridge. This will prevent the salt from going down, resulting in no regeneration.
What kind of salt should I use?
We only recommend the use of salt crystal or solar salt in the Purity Bay system. You can use pellets on occasion if you can’t find crystals. Your system can also tolerate potassium, although it is much more expensive.
How often do I need to replace my drinking system filters?
Filters should be replaced no later than every 18 months, and sooner if the taste of the water begins to change. By regularly changing your filters and taking care of your system, you are extending the life of the purification system. Some clients choose to replace their filters more frequently, up to every 12 months. The filter membrane needs to be changed once every six years.
My skin feels like the soap doesn’t come off — why is this happening?
The feeling of not being able to wash soap off of your skin when using our water purification systems is normal. What you’re feeling is your natural oils coming to the surface, which is beneficial to your skin.
What are the service charges if my system fails or needs to be checked?
Your Purity Bay System has a limited lifetime warranty. We will provide you with a copy of your system’s warranty at the time of purchase. The drinking system has a 5-year warranty. You will also find a copy of that at the time of purchase. After three years, if you have an issue that requires a service call, a standard trip charge will be assessed. Pure Solutions is the authorized warranty and service provider for the Purity Bay system.
Do I need to make any changes to the setting of the computer head on my Purity Bay unit?
Our team sets the computer to clean itself based on the water hardness, which determines the length of the rinse and flush. These settings stay saved in the computer, even if your electricity goes out. So, all you need to do is reset the time if you have a power failure. Should the water quality or hardness change, and changes are recommended, Pure Solutions will help you determine which settings are ideal for your system.
