New Port Richey mainly gets its water supply from groundwater sources. Like many other areas in central Florida, New Port Richey relies on wells that extract water from the Floridan Aquifer, a massive underground limestone structure. The Aquifer underlies much of the state and serves as a primary source of drinking water in the Southeast.
The groundwater from these wells is treated and distributed to residential, commercial, and industrial properties through the city’s water distribution system.
