The city has several groundwater wells that extract water from the Floridan aquifer, which is a vast underground water source. Additionally, the city also purchases treated surface water from the regional water supplier, Tampa Bay Water.
Contaminants
The water sources for Madeira Beach’s residences generally contain trace amounts of several different contaminants. To address this issue, local governments routinely test and provide reports on these. They are required to keep these levels below what is considered toxic, according to regulation.
These include:
