CURRENT WATER DEMANDS NOT SUSTAINABLE DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE

Global warming will have a significant impact on the availability of water supplies in the coming decades. A new research, conducted by consulting firm Tetra Technical for the Natural Resources Protection Authorities (NRDC), analyzed the effects of climatic change on drinking water and demand in the entire United States. The study found that more than 1,100 areas — one-third of all counties in the lower 48 — will experience higher threats of water shortages by mid-century as the result of climatic change. More than 400 of these areas will experience higher than normal threats of water shortages.

At least most part of America has felt the effects of climate change. It’s like anyone who didn’t lose his/her home lost his job. There are some issues that the government of U.S can do urgently to defuse the climate threat. The president should elevate the issue of climate change in public discourse and rally public support and build political will for climate solutions.
